Today, I entered Argentina!

I took a 5 hour busride from Puerto Natales, Chile to El Calafate, Argentina. The border crossing was about an hour.
There were horses crossing the road at the border crossing. The ride was scenic as the huge turquoise Lago Argentina came into view with snowcapped mountains on the other side.
El Calafate is a town based almost solely on trekking so it is kind of expensive and touristy. I plan on staying only two days and visiting one highly recommended glacier.

The money situation is interesting here. The exchange is 5 to 1 peso to dollar but black market you can get up to 7.5 to 1. However, El Calafate seems wise to this as they were only offerring 4 to 1 to mny US dollars. How nice! another strange thing about Argentina is that now you have to buy a bag at the market they don't just pack your food into a bag! Otherwise I nourished myself today with a pizza for lunch and a completo hamburger with ham, egg, lettuce, tomato, and cheese from this restaurant.
